Asheville Day Trip: First Stop, HOLES Donut’s and Coffee
If you live in Charlotte you would know that one of the best local road trip’s takes place anywhere in the NC mountains. While many prefer the beach, I am hand’s down a mountain girl. High hill’s, the freshest mountain air, babbling brook’s, a wealth of tree’s to frolic in, wether by foot or even car. No trip is complete without a culinary treasure hunt. This place ended up being a hidden gem right outside of downtown Asheville. Hole’s Donuts whose 6 month anniversary falls on today. When you order one of a handful of fresh flavors each day, they fry the dough right then. Most selections the day we went happened to have a buttermilk glaze. The one photographed is a buttermilk glazed with cocoa nib from locally owned French Broad Chocolate, and it was amazing! They use stone ground organic flour as the base and get pretty creative with flavor’s seasonally. If you are planning a trip to Asheville anytime soon, leave early enough to grab a cup of Jo and one of these delectable gem’s!
What is sweeter? Grabbing a few ( or one) with a beautiful friend. My sweet friend Sarah and I started our day at Hole’s, and had a short moment of table time and laughter!
